The Modern Firm website design team is excited to begin building a new law firm website for the Chicagoland attorneys of the Nolan Law Office. The firm has enjoyed great success over the years in Illinois employment / wage and hour law. They are now looking to launch their first website, so that colleagues and potential clients can easily find and learn about them on the web.

Nolan Law Office works with employees throughout Illinois from their base in Chicago:

My Law Firm Has Enough Business: Do I Need a Website or Online Marketing?

Traditionally a very referral-based, word-of-mouth business — in part because of bar association requirements or rules of professional conduct limiting attorney advertising — the field of law was somewhat late in coming to the digital age. For many established legal practitioners, the need for an online law firm presence is still a bit of a mystery, at best, and a headache, at worst. Our creed at The Modern Firm is always that lawyers should do what works for them and their businesses.

To be competitive, particularly with larger firms, some small firms find it critical to maintain a content-rich, active law firm website as a foundation for organic, search-based online marketing or targeted pay-per-click advertising like Google AdWords. Other small firms simply find that, in this day and age, their colleagues and clients are wary of a firm that lacks a website; we're all increasingly used to being able to look up a professional on the web, read his or her biography, learn about his or her work and, at a minimum, easily find contact information and a map to the office.

Most small law firms fall somewhere in the middle, finding both that a website is now a staple of law firm administration — like a business card or, back in the day, a Yellow Pages listing — and an important opportunity to stake a claim on the internet landscape, which is increasingly used by consumers for every possible product, service or informational need.

During our website design process, The Modern Firm helps to understand and inform your decisions about what kind of website and features will best support your business model, your marketing goals, and your budget. You can trust us to give it to you straight: although a law firm website is increasingly a must-have, online marketing isn't a great fit for some law firms or practice areas; we're happy to help you determine that you're better off simply continuing to network in your community and sending that yearly holiday card.

We welcome you to contact The Modern Firm to discuss what kind of website or other online efforts might be the right fit for your law firm.
